I provide divorce mediation services for all cities and towns in Barnstable County (Cape Cod). With over 1,800 Massachusetts divorces successfully mediated, I am familiar with the Barnstable County Probate and Family Court, its judges, its procedures, and its filing requirements.
All sessions are conducted via Zoom — no need to travel to an office. I prepare every court document and mail them to you with signing instructions and a pre-addressed envelope to the correct courthouse. Most couples complete mediation in two sessions. For a detailed walkthrough, see our mediation service page.
Barnstable County (Cape Cod) is located in southeastern Massachusetts, bordered by Plymouth County to the north across the Cape Cod Canal, with Nantucket Sound to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. With a population of approximately 230,000, the county seat is Barnstable.

Many Cape Cod residents own seasonal or vacation properties in addition to a primary home, adding complexity to property division. A mediator experienced with second-home valuation and creative division strategies is essential when real estate represents the most significant marital asset.
The Cape’s economy is heavily seasonal — income for many residents fluctuates between the busy summer months and the quieter winter. Child support and alimony calculations need to account for variable and seasonal income, which I handle regularly in my practice.
Cape Cod has a significant retiree population. Later-in-life divorces often center on pension division and Social Security strategies rather than parenting plans — a different set of financial skills than younger-couple divorces require. I can calculate pension present values during our first session at no additional cost.
